This kindergarten was originally set up many years ago by the Camphill
communities at the Grange and Oaklands Park to ensure Steiner education
for their younger children on site and it extends a warm welcome to those
in the local community sharing the ideals.
Steiner education offers an unhurried approach, nurturing qualities
that will equip the child for life.
The core principals include
- protecting the child's right to a healthy
childhood
- supporting his/her wellbeing
- learning by providing
sufficient time, space and facilities for creative play,
- being
aware of the nature of sensory experience in early childhood
- using imitation and example, rhythm and repetition as educational
tools.
